As we have been told, the Abyssinian breed evolved in and around Egypt being the worshipped cat of the Pharaohs. They were worshipped so majestically, that the Egyptians gave them the same type of mummification as their kings and queens.
Just as there are guardians of the elements of the four corners; Air, Fire, Water and Earth, there are also Gods and Goddesses associated with these elements that give life to the Spirit. So then, it is their right of birth by the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses of association and protection of this surreal breed “The Abyssinian.” Air is to Thoth, Amun Re is to Fire, Isis is to Water, Bast is to Earth. These are the Gods and Goddesses of the chosen and we share with you some background and insight.
Thoth: The God of Air known as the Ibis head brings the wind of intelligence and knowledge to the Abyssinian. He brings the mythical intent of all winged animals of past and presence.
Amun Re: the God of the Sun and Fire brings forth passion from Fire and Flame to the Abyssinian. He is the shinning Sun in their eyes and hearts.
Isis: is the Goddess of the Moon and Water. Isis brings forward immense magical power through the constants of the tides and the phases of the Moon. Isis is the thrown of Egypt and gives the Abyssinian their magical colors, especially Silver for the Moon.
Bast: is the Feline Goddess of the Earth. Bast is often seen holding a sacred rattle with kittens at her feet. She is the Mother of all Abyssinians, cycling them to healthy, muscular breeding. Bast is the protector of the Abyssinian at their time of conception and walks with them through life and after.
